FAQ

  • How do I take care of my new jewellery?
Take care of these guys the same way you would your other jewellery. · Clean your pieces with a damp cloth if need be, or a soft microfiber cloth, wiping gently (we all need a bit of TLC sometimes!). · Whilst polymer clay is strong, that doesn't mean it's unbreakable so avoid unnecessary pressure and impact. · There may be a natural bend/flexibility some pieces, this is totally normal but please don't push it to its limits - we all have a breaking point 🙃 · Remove before showering or swimming, avoid submerging these guys in water and keep far away from extreme high heat, as this may affect the durability and structure of the piece.
  • How do I take care of my crocheted goodies?
All the crocheted home and decor pieces can be washed in the washing machine - please make sure it's washed on no higher than 30 degrees Celsius. Do not tumble dry, just hang the pieces on the radiator or a clothes horse (whichever way you roll), and it'll be dry in no time :)
  • I don’t have pierced ears!
Don’t worry, I got you covered! I can swap out findings for nickel safe clip-ons :) Just let me know before you put your order in as it may not be possible on some earrings - I can also show you what they look like before you put your order in if you get in touch prior :)
  • Can I personalise an item? Do you do any custom designs?
Depending on what it is, of course! Just send me a message and we can discuss what you're looking for and whether it can be done, costs etc. I do take custom orders for jewellery so just let me know and we can have a chat :)
  • Is the jewellery nickel free?
I know the feeling, you’ve just bought a wonderful pair of earrings and after about 4 hours, your lobes are protesting against them and causing havoc – you’re not alone! I use stainless steel, surgical steel and gold/silver plated alloys (such as brass) to ensure as minimal discomfort as possible. I cannot guarantee that the pieces are totally free of nickel as the metals may have very small amounts in them however I check with the sources I purchase from and then I test the metals by wearing the findings for a couple of days (as I usually have a reaction after 4 or so hours - that example above was one of many experiences I’ve had). This means they should be safe for the majority of people however, if you have a severe allergy, I can swap findings for sterling silver or gold instead so please let me know prior to placing an order, especially as there may be an extra cost.
  • Why is my silver finding yellowing/changing colour?
This is totally normal, anything that has a silver plating (or is silver) can change colour over time when exposed to air and moisture, which gradually oxidises the silver metal or plating. This is effectively tarnishing - it happens and yes, it can be frustrating however, there are a few things you can do: · Take off jewellery before showering or swimming – this is going to keep it away from any moisture/chemicals/salt water (if you’re a beach baby) and protect the silver for longer. · When putting on make-up and/or perfume, make sure jewellery is the last thing you put on. · Store jewellery when not in use in a jewellery box that has a lid just to help keep away any moisture and over exposure to air. · Easiest/safest way to help bring it back to its usual shine is to get an anti-tarnish jewellery polishing cloth (easy to get hold of, either from a local jewellery store or Amazon, and if you’re in the UK, a quick google search for anti tarnish cloths brings up Sainsburys and Waitrose too!) which will gently remove any dirt and tarnish – be gentle, the piece doesn’t need to be scrubbed. There may be other ways you can bring back the shine and remove the tarnish, however I haven’t tested these so I cannot recommend them.
